Loving dance styles such as contemporary, contact improvisation, hip hop, jazz, lyrical, freestyle. Donna especially loves working different from others, such as the many wedding dances she has choreographed, the community groups she supports and dance for disability groups that she mentors in the dance world. With aim is to give our future performers amazing life experiences and performance experience as well as giving them a fun safe environment to meet new friends, keep fit and be part of something. I have been lucky enough to have experienced the benefits that dance provides and it has helped me overcome many obstacles. I love to see others getting the most out of life irrelevant of the situation and love nothing more than helping them to build memories that they will live with and look back on.
Jane Parkes HEAD OF COSTUME & PRODUCTION DESIGN.
Originally from the U.K. Jane began studying performing arts to build her confidence after being bullied as a child. At the age of 10 she started baton twirling and it was an instant attraction. In 2009 Jane and her young family relocated to New Zealand. It was here Jane connected with Donna from newly founded Mt Dance Co. A place where everyone is encouraged to express themselves. Jane found the inspiration to pick her baton back up and start twirling again. "I suppose it's a bit like riding a bike, you never forget".
Here at Mount Dance Co Jane is so much more than an amazing baton twirler. Not only does she want to give children the opportunity to try something exciting and different, become a unique individual, make friends while working as part of a team, enjoy dance and having fun!
Jane will be found at every event and performance as our HEAD OF COSTUME & PRODUCTION DESIGN.
